Czech republic: the coordinator

EDUCAnet is a secondary school. We are experienced both with international projects and work with disadvantage group of learners, senior citizens. Our goal is to connect school facilities and experience with need of the local community and senior citizens as learners.

Poland:

The Fundation „Local Group Partnership for Warmia” is a local organization. Our area of acting is the Northern Warmia. The Fundation supports local rural communities, putting stress on children and youth, as well as elder people. We activate rural communities and make them act in order to improve life conditions. We organize trainings for children, youth and elder people, support realizing projects which serve developing social end economical skills. One of important aims is help the elder people to gain basic informatic information, usage of personal computers in improving the local development in the rural areas.

Vasa Arbis (the Swedish Adult Education Centre of Vaasa) is maintained by the municipality of Vaasa and follows the law of Liberal Adult Education. The institute’s main objective is to support life long learning among the citizens – a learning that strengthens the personality of the individual. The selection of courses is planned so as to give current knowledge and skills in a changing world. The starting point for the institute’s liberal adult education is a questioning, examining and humanistic outlook. The institute’s work shall contribute to a creative and culturally stimulating living environment and an ecologically sustainable development. The education that is given is voluntary and doesn’t follow any curriculum. Within the project Me(u)mories Vasa Arbis is planning to offer activities to senior citizens: courses for documentation of memories, for computer skills and English lessons.

Lithuania:

The school is an educational institution that provides local children and adults with supplementary lessons in foreign languages and is also a centre of various international and intercultural activities and projects for local people.

The school is going to be a partner in the project and participate in all the stages within the project- designing the idea, planning, carrying out activities, initiating tasks, evaluating, and disseminating the results.

The school is set in a disadvantaged area where the only enterprise - a nuclear power plant- has been shut down and the level of unemployment tends to rocket up. The project will help people open their horizons and learn about other communities and their people.

Italy:

ETA' SERENA

Età Serena, at its 10th anniversary, was established to associate people in a non- profit community involved in volunteer actions in favor of elderly people and people in need in Trebisacce, Calabria, South Italy. Economy in the local area has a rural background. Ageing people are increasing , while young generations emigrate to Northern regions. Family relationship among generations comes to disappear, so that elderly people suffer the lack of that traditional mutual help that traditional family relations were based on.

Today, we are one of the most successful non-profit associations in our area. Our members gathered from the surroundings towns, too. The association’s field of action includes formal informal and non formal education, mutual help, information about social issues and facilities offered to old citizens, culture, environment, leisure time.

 Età Serena aims to respond to the needs of adult citizens and whomever might be out of the working and productive market .The association truly represents a point of social encounter for local people and new comers.

The prime objective of the Association is to inform, promote and encourage members and non members to act as the protagonists of their lives, in order to find better opportunities.

Created in 1971 by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Arles area, the CFC help Companies in hiring their staff, in training their workers, and managers, in looking for training financings. The CFC develops training activities of supporting the adults for achieving the abilities and competence necessary for their future professional integration, like personal development and active citizenship.

The CFC cooperates with various public and private schools and non-govermental organisations in the region. One of our actions is to work with senior citizens. These persons can help firms and young people. They bring closer to the candidates and to the managers. The training centre also organizes cultural initiatives to keep the memory, the ancient practices, usages. There are partnerships with cultural associations.

SILLOGOS GINEKON FILOTIOU NAXOU -PANAGIA I FILOTITISSA is a non-governmental organisation which aims to offer a platform of services such as education for active citizenship and for sustainable development. To achieve its objectives, the organisation develops non-formal and informal learning activities to support the adults to achieve the abilities and competences necessary for their personal development and active citizenship. One of the main objectives is to develop innovative solutions of teaching foreign languages and developing the digital competences. Our society cooperates with non-governmental organisations in the region. We have developed activities that involved members of the organization and representatives of the local community. The members are involved in activities of agro- tourism ,culture and history of one the most ancient civilization og of Greece  (Cycladic ).

“Dessita” professional training centre is a private company which offers vocational training to adults for 20 different professions. It specializes in providing lessons and courses related to the theory and practice of getting a driving license and the ethics on the road. The ethical part of training is very important for our company. We also provide interesting trainings in spheres like – business administration, computers, building, accountancy, hotel management, cosmetics, hair-dos, etc. The interactive and ICT methods of work are of basic importance for the successful training our company provides.
